What is jaboticaba? Jaboticaba is a unique Brazilian grape-like fruit (Plinia cauliflora) that grows directly on the tree's trunk. It has a thick, dark purple skin and sweet, white, jelly-like pulp, offering a flavor similar to a mix of grapes and lychee. Common synonyms include Brazilian Grape Tree, Jabuticaba, and Jabuticabeira. It is commonly eaten fresh, in juices, wines, jellies, and jams.
